Christopher Zitterbart

Christopher co-founded Watchmen in 2004 and has been producing for over twenty-five years. His feature films have premiered and won awards at Cannes, Berlinale, San Sebastian, and Thessaloniki. He has produced commercials and branded films in more than twenty countries. In 2017 he received the Grimme Preis for “The Moon and I”, directed by Nancy Biniadaki. Christopher also writes and directs commercials and corporate films himself, for brands including Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, and ZDF. He graduated from Filmhaus Babelsberg, is an alumnus of the Entertainment Master Class, and EAVE Producers Workshop. He is member of the European Film Academy and the German Producer’s association PROG.

Head of Production

Eddie Chebbi

Eddie joined Watchmen in 2010 and runs production day-to-day. He oversaw the German leg of Netflix’s Queen of Tears and has led premium car shoots for BMW and Hyundai. Before Watchmen, he worked as production accountant and coordinator on Michael Haneke’s The White Ribbon and Funny Games.

Team

For each project, we build the right crew around the right brief. Our network of heads of department brings the experience; our younger collaborators bring the energy. Team size scales with the production – lean by design, and never at the expense of the work.

Watchmen Productions, Berlin

Watchmen has been operating in Germany since 2004. From the start, we’ve worked across borders, line-producing international shoots in Germany and worldwide, co-producing features and documentaries with partners in Europe and beyond, and bringing together German and international talent across concept, art, and direction. Two drives have shaped the company from day one: doing production at a standard the creative deserves, and developing films we ourselves wanted to see made. Both still define us. W-Services is the production-craft side; W-Features is the side where we develop and back what we believe in.

We’re a producer-led house, not an agency – and that shapes how the work and the budget come together. The core team stays small; each project team is built from a network of experienced heads of department, scaled precisely to what the production needs. No idle overhead, no layers one pays for but never sees. What that means: strategic planning from the first budget conversation, experienced crews who get it right the first time, and a budget that goes on screen. Premium quality, engineered through experience and planning – not priced through excess.

In our development department, we’re selective about what we make. We back stories with something at stake – material with weight, a distinct voice, a reason to exist now. And we bring that same standard to our commercial creative work: built to perform for the brand, produced with the planning and craft we’d give a feature.

Watchmen provides full service production in Germany, Austria, and German-speaking Switzerland. From our base in Berlin, we line-produce and fully produce commercials, corporate films, branded content, series, and feature films — for international productions and German agencies and clients alike. On every project, we plan strategically and run lean. Past work includes Apple, BMW, Disney+, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Netflix, Samsung, trivago, and ZDF, to name a few. Whatever the format, Watchmen is your partner for service production in Germany.

W-Features

We develop, produce, and co-produce director-driven feature films, series, and documentaries — work with depth, a distinct voice, and artistic ambition. Recent credits include MY FAVOURITE CAKE (Berlinale Competition 2024, FIPRESCI Award), MARINER OF THE MOUNTAINS (Cannes 2021), and MAYSOON (Seymour Cassel Award, Filmfest Oldenburg 2025). Our films have screened and won awards at Cannes, Berlinale, Venice, San Sebastian, DOK Leipzig, Thessaloniki and many other international festivals.

We are here to help filmmakers tell stories that have to be told and we are committed to making bold, thought-provoking films – fiction and non-fiction. Watchmen has committed to producing its films sustainably, following the green shooting guidelines of PROG producer’s guild.
