Watchmen

Watchmen stands for Arthouse films made in Berlin. We make auteur driven feature films and documentaries for cinema and TV with high relevance, cultural impact, and artistic strength. We aim to tell stories that haven’t been told and we are committed to making bold, thought-provoking films for an international cinema audience – fiction and non-fiction.

Our films have been shown and awarded at international festivals, such as Berlinale, Cannes, DOK Leipzig, Venice Film Festival, Locarno, San Sebastian, and Thessaloniki International Film Festivals.

Amongst the latest releases are the Berlinale 2024 audience and critics favourite MY FAVOURITE CAKE by Maryam Moghaddam and Behtash Sanaeeha, released in German cinemas in July 2024, and co-production MARINER OF THE MOUNTAINS, by director Karim Aïnouz, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival 2021 (Special Screenings) and aired on ARTE in 2022 with theatrical release in France in 2024.
